Get the game.
L2 Conquest runs on the Lineage II High Five client with our small patch on top. Windows only. Two downloads, then a few minutes to install.
-
Step 1
The High Five client
The full Lineage II High Five client, about the size of a modern game. Already have it from another High Five server? Use that copy and skip to step 2.
-
Step 2
The L2 Conquest patch
One zip,
L2Conquest Patch.zip, with asystemand aSysTexturesfolder inside. It points the client at our servers and adds the item names and icons our server uses. The same patch works for the beta and the launch. -
Step 3
Install and play
- Extract the patch zip into the client's main folder, the one that contains
system, and let it replace the files there. - Start
system\l2.exe. Windows asks for administrator rights: the client always asks for them.
- Extract the patch zip into the client's main folder, the one that contains
Before you run it
Check the patch.
Antivirus programs sometimes flag Lineage II patches, ours included, because they change game files. Check that your file is the one we published: open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run this. Compare the result with the SHA-256 above.
Get-FileHash ".\L2Conquest Patch.zip" -Algorithm SHA256
Troubleshooting
If it doesn't start.
"d3dx9_xx.dll is missing"
The client needs the old DirectX 9 libraries. Install the DirectX End-User Runtime (June 2010) from Microsoft, then start the client again.
The client closes right after the logo
Check that you extracted the patch into the client's main folder, not into system or a new folder. Afterwards the client has no system\system folder, and the patch's l2.ini sits in system next to l2.exe.
My antivirus deleted a file
Check the patch's SHA-256 as shown above. If it matches the one we published, restore the file from quarantine and add the client folder as an exception.
Can I play on a Mac?
Not directly. The client is Windows only.
